As a major step in this direction, ECM presents ARMadillo :: The Emebdded Linux Distribution, oriented towards embedded platforms built around the i.MX series of processors from Freescale, and specifically built for their ARM9 hardware platform, including ECM's ARMour series of compute elements (ARMour21 and ARMour35).
